Style: This artist takes photos of hockey games. His style possesses many different things. Hockey is a hard sport to photograph since the action is unrelenting and unpredictable. He has many historical photos of very famous players.
Philosophy: He is trying to express his feelings for hockey. Once he became a team photographer for the New York Islanders, Bennett regained some behind-the-scenes access. He and his group, Bruce Bennett Studios, were the team photographers for the Islanders, New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Flyers, and New York Rangers for a number of years. Despite being an Islanders fan, Bennett makes sure to keep a professional attitude when working.
Influences: Bruce Bennett has influenced me to take more photos of what I love. Since I love hockey he has similar photos of the photos I would take. I never take photos of hockey so I think that this would be interesting for me since I just play. I want to experience how hard it is to track the puck and such because it seems easy but is probably really hard.
The first image is a photo I tried to recreate of Bruce Bennet's famous Wayne Gretzky photos. Back then, the photographers were allowed to go inside the locker rooms freely but now the NHL made it stricter to get into the locker rooms.
This next photo is about a bigby game before the next one against the same team. We won this game by I think 3-0. We were playing great but I think everyone was getting tired for the finals. We were playing as a team and I recreated and got a shot of a stop that usually happens in hockey.
The last photo is about a bigby game finals against greater michigan prospects. This was a decency hard game because we were playing with people we have only practiced against. We still came together and fought but were short when we lost in the shootout. The fall season will be better and when we learn each other's strengths and weaknesses, we will be able to play harder and be better.
